He transformed the club within two years when the club relocated from St. Louis. Under his tutelage the club recorded major victories in the decade from 1965 to 1974. In the decade the team won four American League (AL) pennants and two World Series titles.
He held the title of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1964 after reaching career highs with a .317 batting average, 28 home runs, and 118 runs batted in (RBIs), leading the AL in the last category.
He was again named AL and finished second in the MVP voting behind teammate Frank Robinson after again posting 100 RBIs as his team Orioles won the pennant and pulverized the Los Angeles Dodgers for the team’s first Series title.
In the match against Cincinnati Reds, Robinson stood like a wall against the opponents with his defensive play and negated the base hits by Cincinnati players.
He plundered runs in the initial four games and again by his impeccable performance won the World Series MVP Award as Baltimore defeated the Reds in five games. In 1971 he was the only player earning to the tune of $100,000 annually, only one of 12 other players to earn this level of money.
Robinson led AL third basemen in every aspect of the game, in fielding percentage eleven times and in assists eight times, both major league records, and in putouts and double plays three times each.
He still has in his name major league records for career putouts and his average is better than the closest competitor by a factor of 13% to 20%.

When Brooks Robinson retired in the 1977 season he held the record of 2,896 career games and 10,654 at bats each ranked fifth in major league history and his 848 hits ranked seventh in AL history.
