How I found multi -generational family trips to Hilton Vallarta

Ask my children what they do to relax on vacation, and they will say they swim in the pool, make complex sandy castles close to the waves to guarantee an exciting disaster and return Pina Coladas non -alcoholic. Ask my parents-in-law the same question and they will opt to sit in the shade when reading the swimming pool, at the pool beach, at the nap and … Pina CODAS.

It is a long way to say that children and elders have quite different ideas regarding the holidays. But also: there is something almost sacred to share moments of travel in generations. It is a time when everyone puts their daily life – whether it means school or work or a occupied retirement – to hold and gathers to explore, play and simply spend time.

Test the best: Why we recommend these hotel booking sites

It is precisely this kind of moment of life in the event of a break that I hoped when three generations of family – my 11 and 12 years old, my husband and me, and my in -laws – have reserved a long weekend at Hilton Vallarta Riviera All-Inclusive Resort in Puerto Vallarta. The choice of the complex was not random. This all -inclusive complex was built with several generations in mind and has separate side by side for adults and families.

Two laps, a family

The southern tower, made up of 143 rooms, is the family tower, surmounted on the 12th floor by Rincon, a large Hanguage space and a games room where we allChildren, parents and grandparents-have designed most of the ping-pong evenings, aerial hockey, ice cream and pancakes on order.

Our review: All about the Hilton Vallarta Riviera

With its 301 rooms, the largest north tower is reserved for customers aged 18 and over, and has a quieter atmosphere. The types of rooms are the same throughout the property, so the big difference is really the location. Perhaps even more important, especially during the whale observation season when the Banderas bay is full of humpback whales, all the rooms have fantastic balconies that look at water.

Smooth the delicate moments

If you have already traveled with a large group, you know that meals can be difficult. It was another part of an all -inclusive call; We could simply decide a restaurant (in a few cases, we needed reservations, but there is an office in the dedicated hall just to that, so it was easy) and we meet at a agreed time. It was the most transparent culinary experience that I remember having on vacation, and it was fun to try the different places of the complex.

The first evening, we had pasta and pizzas at the Luce; The following night, we sampered through regional Mexican specialties in Maxal; And the third night, we became a steak and a classic ear in Auma. Travels were peppered in the “Restore Room” in Vela (the Buffet-Petit-Petit-de-lunch near the swimming pools) and, my favorite, the two small food trucks which offered hamburgers and vegan options remarkably healthy and delicious .

Mix experiences

There were enough chairs in the swimming pools so that we can go in a group and all find exactly the experience we wanted. For grandparents, this meant some time in the family swimming pool with children, the hen relaxing in the neighboring adult pool (with a swimming bar) and reading and nap on a chair lounge. For children, it was non -stop pool time and playing group games like a paddleboard challenge and water volleyball.

And for me, I was the happiest on one of the carts in the shame of the swimming pool, with a glass, a book and a view of the ocean.

Beyond the station

The Hilton is a 15-minute taxi route from downtown Puerto Vallarta, and even with our group of six people (larger than a standard taxi), it was easy to obtain a “mini-dut” (c ‘was actually a van) to adapt to our group. On a few occasions, we have also recovered Ubers from the Romantica zona; These experiences were also easy.

Knowing that our group included an 11 -year -old child who complains about heat and an 80 -year -old man who used a cane, it was very important to find activities that operated for everyone. During our first full day, we reserved a three -hour walking visit which included stops at Taco Stands, murals, a tiles and markets. About two hours later, we spent a shaded bench in a place and our youngest and older members decided to spend time and relax while we checked the cathedral and the malecon. It was a good reminder that everyone was the happiest when they could participate in their own speed. The next day, while we were preparing to go back to town, the grandparents decided to hang on to the hotel, so we took the children and went to a street taco walk, stopping for Birria, Carnitas and Fish tacos, as well as some hot tortillas to bring back to the grandparents.

To know

  • Not all resorts are open all the time. You can get an impression of open hours and days in the hall. You can book a week in advance or simply book in person at the reservations office right next to the registration office.
  • Specific children’s offers include a children’s club for young people (it is said to be up to 12 years old, but my children aged 11 and 12 were much more interested in the RinCon games room of the 12th floor in the family tower).
  • The Hilton Vallarta Riviera is in zone 3 for taxi prices. Note that the price to return to the airport is more than the cost of reaching the airport to the hotel.

With its separate but connected towers, its abundant and varied food offers, and many ways to meet in a group, the Hilton Vallarta Riviera has created the perfect scaffolding for these moments together, and also allowed everyone in our group Multi-generational to relax in the way it seemed good, that it meant swimming for four hours in a row, drowning in the sun or by pulling glasses festive full of pina coladas, with and without kick.
