Are Cabanas at Universal and Disney Water Parks Worth the Extra Cost of Your Vacation? We discovered

There’s nothing better than a day at the pool in the summer, but at Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World, pool days can often mean heading to one of the on-site water parks. For Universal, that means Volcano Bay. At Disney, there are two options: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. And while you can get to any park early to scout out the perfect spot with multiple chairs and umbrellas, there’s another option as a starting point for your family: renting a cabin.

I know what you’re probably thinking: these cabins are hard to get and add a lot of money to your vacation budget. But what if I told you they also offer perks that might be worth the extra vacation funds? Keep reading to learn more about Universal and Disney cabins, whether they’re worth the extra cost, what’s included in the rental, and which one I think comes out on top after testing both.

All three water parks at Universal Orlando and Disney World have cabanas, but how much you pay depends on many factors. The two most important factors are when you plan to go to the water parks and the number of people in your group.

Universal Volcano Bay offers two types of cabins: single cabins that sleep up to six people and family suite cabins that sleep up to 16 people. Since each cabin type has dynamic pricing, we share the cost range. To find out exact prices and reserve a cabana, the only option is to call Universal Orlando. Single unit cabins range from $160 to $800+ per day for the entire unit. Lower units are often less expensive than higher units, but the latter offer better views of the park. Family suite cabins cost anywhere from $300 to over $1,000 per day. Just be aware that there are a limited number of family suite cabins available, so if you want one, you’ll need to book as early as possible.

At Walt Disney World, the polar patios at Disney’s Blizzard Beach may be more affordable. Polar Patios have two levels: Polar Patios Standard (without roof) and Polar Patios Premium Plus (with roof). Both offer space for up to 10 people, but there are only six people. Prices for a standard deck range from $225 to $425, while premium plus decks range from $350 to $525.

At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, there are three styles of cabanas, called Beachcomber Shacks. The first is Beachcomber Shacks Standard, which seats 10 and ranges in price from $225 to $425. The Beachcomber Shacks Deluxe are slightly larger, seating 12 people, and prices range from $300 to $500 per day. Then there’s the Beachcomber Shacks Premium Plus, which offers the most amenities and seats 10, with prices ranging from $375 to $550. All Typhoon Lagoon cabins have a roof.

There are tons of free amenities at Universal and Disney water parks.

At Volcano Bay, amenities included are lounge chairs and sofas, a small refrigerator stocked with water, a basket of fruit and snacks delivered upon arrival, towels, and a locker right in your cabin. You’ll also have a dedicated cabin host to help you throughout the day.

At Blizzard Beach, standard Polar patios include towels, a locker, water, soft drinks, cushioned furniture and a dedicated attendant. Premium Plus cabins offer more amenities, including mini-fridges, fans, and cell phone chargers.

At Typhoon Lagoon, the standard and deluxe Beachcomber Shacks offer the same basic amenities as the standard Polar Patios. The real difference in amenities is the premium plus Beachcomber Shacks, which offer the standard amenities plus a dining table, mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, fan, and four electrical outlets.

Both Disney water parks also offer a cabana host who can help you throughout the day.

The most important thing that isn’t part of a cabana at any of the water parks is your entry ticket. If you’re staying at Universal Orlando Resort, you can bundle a Volcano Bay ticket into your ticket package or purchase a day ticket.

Those traveling to Walt Disney World have several ticket options. You can bundle a water park ticket into your ticket package or purchase a day ticket. And for those staying at a Walt Disney World hotel, you get free entry to any of the on-site water parks the day you arrive through September 8, which can really help with your overall vacation budget.

In all three parks, food and some drinks are not included, but can be brought to you by your cabin attendant. Start a tab and an invoice will be delivered at the end of the day.

If you have a large family, are traveling with multiple groups, or just want a good base, cabanas can definitely make a difference in a water park. And best of all, with all the amenities provided, you can enter the water park without having to worry about drinks for everyone, wet and unusable towels, or finding enough chairs close together for the whole group.

Although cabins can be expensive, if you split the cost between a few friends or families, the cost per small group can actually be very affordable. For example, if you go to Walt Disney World and want to get a standard cabana at Typhoon Lagoon, for the average cost of $325 and fill it with the maximum number of guests (10), each person will only have to pay around $33. This same idea also works at Blizzard Beach and Universal Volcano Bay.

Our pick for the best cabins is at Volcano Bay. (Photo: Universal Orlando Resort)

I’ve tried and tested cabanas at all three water parks, and no matter which one you book, you’ll have a great time. But one cabin option definitely rises to the top for me, and that’s the individual units at Universal Volcano Bay. The cabins themselves are really beautiful. During my visit, I had an upper level unit, which had an incredible 360 degree view of the water park.

I also think the snacks and fruit basket at Volcano Bay push the amenities over the top for me. The basket is filled with freshly cut fruit and delicious little muffins. And since my group hadn’t finished the platter before leaving Volcano Bay for the day, our server offered to box it up so we could enjoy the rest in our hotel room.

If you can find a good deal on Volcano Bay cabanas, or if you have a large group traveling together and can split the cost between a few people, this can be a cost-effective way to enjoy a cabana and have a fixed base for your day at the water park.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
