You will find cruises in almost every corner of the world. Because it is so easy for families to climb a ship, to unpack only once and to see several destinations in a single trip, many opt to travel at sea. There is certainly a merit of this feeling of effortlessness, but that does not mean that cruise is the best option for each destination (or family).
Despite nearly 50 cruises to my credit, I am always by default to stay in local hotels and guest rooms, to develop it in the culture of a single place and to venture off the beaten track. In the following five destinations, however, I would plan to take my family to cruise against a land visit for a more hassle experience.
1. Alaska
