One of the ways that I manage to travel with my children as often as I is to be concerned about costs. Sometimes staying in the hotels at a budget is exactly what I need – a clean place so that my family can take showers and sleep. But other times, low -budget hotels can try, with stained carpets, smelly rooms and unnecessary staff. These hotels are sometimes more stressful than relaxing and I try to be out of the room as much as possible.
During a recent family trip, I decided to make follies and stay in a hotel that was a destination in itself. I felt worn half a single two-week trip with two of my children and I wanted a place where I could not only put my head but feel at home and at ease.

I had always wanted to discover the legendary service and the luxury of a Four Seasons hotel. I was curious to see if staying in a high -level hotel would really improve my trip, or would not make as much difference. I only hesitated a little when I reserved three nights in the Four Seasons Atlanta, in Georgia, for a little pleasure in the middle of the long journey, and sometimes exhausting. I was not disappointed. While remaining in the Four Seasons is certainly not in my budget for all the family holidays, I left refreshed, pampered and understanding of the value of an occasional madness. Here’s why the experience has stood out, and why I start in the blink of an eye.
The service was impeccable.
In some hotels, the reception staff act as if I bother them when I arrive to register. In the Four Seasons Atlanta, the staff of the reception was immediately helpful and sympathetic. Instead of recovering a key and rushing, the reception staff patiently explained everything they thought that I would like to know about the hotel’s equipment and patiently answered the questions of my nine -year -old son on the swimming pool on site.
The small touches made a big difference.
Before my stay in the Four Seasons, I had not fully understood what the other travelers meant when they talked about the extraordinary level of service in the Seasons. After having experienced it, I think a lot of things are summed up in small touches and personalized attention.
For example: when we arrived in our room for the first time, the cookies on the theme of rue de Sésame were waiting for my younger son. He was delighted to spot his name on one of them. After our release from exploring for the day, a small peare fishing named Peachy was waiting for him on his bed. This gift, paying tribute to the nickname of Georgia’s fishing state, ended up being the favorite memory of my son of all the trip.
Everything was immaculate.
All in the Four Seasons was impeccable. I have never even seen a wandering towel in the magnificent indoor swimming pool. The housekeeper has helped keep my room in order by carefully organizing my toiletries on the counter. My room also received cleaning services twice a day, one in the morning and again in the evening for a revolution service, during which the curtains were closed for the night and the chocolates were left on my bed.
The staff went beyond
In most hotels, I used to disappear in the background. This is particularly true when the property is occupied. During my stay in the Four Seasons, I often felt like the only guest even if he was still crowded.
I left my reading glasses on the bedside table next to the bed before leaving for the day. I came back in the evening to find a new fabric to clean the glasses that awaits me. In most hotels, I suppose that cleaning women rush from one room to another. But here, the cleaning lady went beyond to make me take care and see, who seemed very special in this solo parental journey where, most of the time, I was doing all the stationie.
There were also many other protruding facts on service. When a staff member heard me of the day’s plans with my son, he offered to check the car at the hotel house to take a look. It was a thoughtful touch that made our day a little easier and saved me from driving to Atlanta, which is known for poor traffic. While dining at the hotel restaurant, Margot Bar, a server heard my son talk about football. He transformed the TV into a football match, which made my son’s day.
It inspired more trips.
I liked to stay in the Four Seasons in Atlanta so much that I reserved a room in the Four Seasons Cairo for a family trip to Egypt. Our stay only left me more impressed by the legendary hospitality of four seasons. The four seasons of Cairo are located along the Nile. No trip to Egypt would be complete without a boat trip on the Nile. The hotel concierge not only recommended and reserved a very affordable boat walk for us, but they escaped us towards and from the quay on the other side of the street. The housekeeping maintenance quickly organized the load cords that we had scattered throughout the room and put them in leather carriers to keep the room tidy. After a long day to visit the major pyramids, my children and I liked to swim in the four pools of the hotel. The Buffet of the Four Seasons Cairo was incredible and easily the best hotel breakfast that I have ever had in the world, with a fantastic mixture of Western and Egyptian foods. When a server noticed that my husband and I had a plate full of Egyptian specialties, they brought us falafel and dessert specially made so that we can try. During the visit of a city as large and chaotic as Cairo, having a paradise in the city helped us enjoy our trip so much more.
I love the epic and respectful holidays of the budget of my family because it means that we see more of the world together. But my moment of four seasons taught me that from time to time, a shorter madness can feel just as special.
