While we fell in front of the statue of freedom, I leaned to do a champagne toast with my mother. We are not celebrating anything important, but whenever we are cruising together, it is worth making glasses and sipping a sparkling glass. This time, we were sailing on the brand new ship of Virgin Voyages, Brilliant Lady, during his trip to New York Sirène.
On board, the entertainment and dynamic food scene dominates the conversation. We were looking forward to trying the most recent add to the range of restaurants, a Spanish inspiration restaurant entitled Rojo by Razzle Dazzle, and also get a slice of our favorite pizza at sea from the pizza. We have also learned that entertainment on Brilliant Lady is brand new and exclusive to the ship, so we mark all the programs we want to see on the application.

After an easy boarding of Pier 90 in New York, we put into a sail on the path of our port of guard, the Royal Naval Naval Site in the Bermuda. During the following five nights, my mother and I have dinner on exceptional meals and the best ice cream at sea, spent time on a private terrace on the roof and given some of Virgin’s most unique entertainment to date.
The ship

Brilliant Lady is located roughly the same as the other cruise ships of Virgin Voyages, with only slight differences in a few places, such as the tattoo shop on the ship and a slightly larger main pool. After sailing on Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady before, it made the lady brilliant quite easy because I already knew the layout of each of the decks.
There is a lot of space to enjoy the outdoors on the ship. I love the DECK 7 outdoor space, which includes sofas and lounge chairs, but without the swimming pool atmosphere. It is an ideal place to relax, read a book or simply enjoy the view of the ocean.

Then there is Richard’s roof, a private terrace for those who stay in cabins at the concierge level, which Virgin calls Rockstar Quarters. The space has comfortable day beds, many traditional salons seats, a private bar and a whirlpool. Even better, every day from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Richard’s roof welcomes the sunset time, where champagne flows freely while the barmans walk in the area with sparkling bottles constantly filling your glass.
There was a few days when the weather was not on our side, and many people gathered inside at the roundabout, the virgin version of a central atrium, or along the Pont 7 corridor, where the social club and the platform house offered games, entertainment and indoor food. In addition, SIP, Champagne Lounge, was ideal for people who were looking at. SIP also serves a fantastic afternoon tea on sea days, with your choice of tea and a tower filled with tiny sandwiches, scones and candies.
Cabins on Virgin Voyages

One thing I hoped would be different on the new ship was the cabins. My mom and I stayed in a central terrace of the sea, which was a standard balcony room in the middle of the ship. Although spacious, I don’t think Virgin’s cabins have enough storage for longer navigations. I also don’t like how low beds are on the ground, which means that you cannot store suitcases below. I ended up putting our suitcases in the closet, which was not ideal.

Bathrooms are standard bathrooms for cruising ships, but the precipitation shower is a nice touch, and the strong water pressure was a welcome surprise. Outside the balcony, a set of two metal chairs and a small coffee table was available for use, as well as Virgin’s signature red hammocks from yellow sheet hammocks. I used the hammock several times, and it was a great way to relax between activities.
Entertainment on virgin travel Brilliant Lady

Virgin Voyages is renowned for its animated entertainment which range from live groups and unique performance that provides action for you. On Brilliant Lady, there are seven new original productions, plus some favorites back. The two main areas on board for entertainment are the red room and the manor. Inside the red room, you can see out of time, a spectacle that will bring you back in time in the 1920s and beyond on a wild ride through history. In addition, a reality, a modern vision Romeo and Julietis a favorite of fans that you cannot miss.
I spent most of my time in the mansion, which you may know about the online presence of Virgin. The sparkling corridor is everywhere Instagram and Tiktok, and makes it a great photo place on board. Inside, you can attend a murder in the Manor, a live crime show with a twist of the 1980s. A new party, electric party, with UV lights and a lot of neon clothes, also takes place here.

With a torsion, a dinner at an additional cost ($ 50 per person), is inspired by classic supper clubs from the 1920s. From the moment I entered the mansion for dinner, I was welcomed with showgirls dripping with diamonds perched in martini glasses larger than life, a magic made closer and a range of sofas before for dinner. The real dinner was great, with a defined menu but a choice of steak or fish entry. The show presents a unique variety of acts, including the dance of the taps and a sword Hirlonne.
Scarlet night
And of course, there is Scarlet Night, the emblematic party of Virgin which takes place once a sail. The entire ship is draped in red, and the guests put on their best red outfits for the evening. It starts at the roundabout (the central staircase in the middle of the ship), then spreads in the rest of the ship with pop-up entertainment, mini-splips and even questions of conversation starting in some of the main bars. Then the night ends with a large swimming pool party while a DJ turns the hottest. Even if Scarlet Night ends up being a very late night, it’s always fun to dance at night under the stars.
When Brilliant Lady will go to Alaska next summer, the red room will be the ideal place. This space will serve as host for the scarlet night when the weather is too cold or too rainy for the outdoor swimming pool party.
Dinner on virgin travel Brilliant Lady

There is no catering shortage aboard the Brilliant Lady, and almost everything is included in your cruise rate. I love ice cream and virgin pizza, which are ideally located next to the other. The hard cream flavors change daily (my favorites were the orange Ricotta and Blackberry sorbet), and the pizza is all licensed and is available in a personal size of 8 inch (although any pizza is a personal pizza if you try hard enough). The other fast box options include the kitchen, a concept of food room with stations that serve tacos, burgers, ramen, sandwiches and more. For a meal with a view, head to the platform, a restaurant facing backwards where the Mediterranean plates reign supreme.

Then there are “specialized catering” restaurants, which are more like restaurants on land restaurants compared to specialized restaurants on other cruise ships. The wake is implementing high -city steakhouse vibrations with steaks and sides cooked on order, and the AGAVE Rose manufactures fantastic high -end Mexican dishes at sea. A new addition to Brilliant Lady, and my favorite restaurant on the ship, is Rojo by Razzle Dazzle, a whole new version of original Razzle dazzling restaurants. The new iteration is a Spanish -inspired restaurant that seems warm and comfortable. The menu has a wide variety of shared tapas and larger dishes. Do not jump the croquettes of the Tapas section or the homemade churros with a chocolate sauce from the dessert menu.
Global experience on the brilliant lady of Virgin Voyages
If I had to describe the brilliant lady of Virgin Voyages in a word, it would be dynamic. From entertainment and mixing of catering to crew and spaces on board, everything was purely fun. The crew guarantees that each guest is well taken care of, whether they serve dinner or whether the spaces are ready for night evenings. During the five nights, my mother and I were on board, we lived some of the most interesting shows at sea, taking advantage of the first -rate restoration and spent some time outside on the pool decks to catch these last summer rays in New York.
